What is the step-by-step process to get my dealership live on MotorGrid?

Here is what to expect from registration to your first live listings:

• Day 1 — Submit your registration. Complete the form on the Join as a Dealership page. You'll need your trading name, contact number, email address, and physical address. The form takes under five minutes.
• Day 1 to 2 — We make contact. A member of the MotorGrid team calls or emails to confirm your dealership details and verify your application. This is a short conversation, not a formal audit.
• Day 2 to 3 — Verification complete, profile activated. Once verified, your public dealership profile goes live on MotorGrid. Our team then works with you to load your initial vehicle inventory. You provide the vehicle details and photos and we handle the formatting and publishing.
• Day 3 to 5 — Your listings go live. Your vehicle pages are published on MotorGrid and indexed by Google. Buyers searching for your make, model, year, or location across South Africa can find your stock from this point forward.

Dealerships that have their vehicle details and photos ready before we make contact tend to go live on the faster end of that window. If you're onboarding during our Beta phase, our team prioritises your setup to get you live as quickly as possible.

What do I need to prepare before registering?

Very little is needed at registration. You'll enter your dealership trading name, contact number, email address, and physical address. That's enough to get your application submitted and our team in motion.

To speed up the vehicle loading step after verification, have the following ready for each vehicle in your current stock:

• Make, model, year, and trim level
• Mileage and transmission type
• Asking price
• Clear photos (exterior front, rear, sides, interior, and odometer)
• Any extras or service history worth noting

The more detail you provide per vehicle, the more search queries that listing can match on Google. A listing with colour, fuel type, transmission, and location ranks for more specific searches than one with only the make and model.

What could delay my dealership going live?

The most common delay is difficulty reaching the dealership after registration. Our team needs to speak with someone who can confirm the dealership details and approve the application. If the contact number or email on the form goes unanswered, verification stalls.

To avoid this, use a number and email address you check daily. If you know you'll be unavailable for a day or two after registering, note that in the form so our team can plan around it.

Once we've made contact and verified your dealership, the rest of the process moves without delay. Our team manages the inventory upload, profile setup, and publishing on your behalf.

Will my listings appear on Google once they go live?

Yes. Every vehicle listing on MotorGrid is server-side rendered, which means Google can index each page on the first crawl. You don't need to wait for a second pass or submit a sitemap manually. Most new listings appear in Google search results within a few days of going live.

Each vehicle gets its own indexed URL containing the make, model, year, price, location, and description. A buyer searching for "used Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD-6 double cab Pretoria" can land directly on your listing from Google without going through a marketplace homepage first.

Does MotorGrid charge anything to get started?

No. Registration is free and our Beta onboarding includes inventory loading at no cost. Dealerships joining during Beta also receive up to 15 active listings and 2 sponsored slots at no charge, along with a 10% lifetime discount on paid plans once billing opens.
